About Alyce

Hi, I’m Alyce

My journey to become an editor started when I moved to Germany from my native state of Texas. I’ve worked for over seven years as an academic editor at the Technical University of Munich, where I also received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

I’m now following my dream and launching Editing Wonder – where I help authors find the magic in their stories while cleaning up all the little details.

My editing approach covers both the creative and technical side. I’ve received professional training on how to give critical feedback on creative work, and am well-versed in using the Chicago Manual of Style for both fiction and non-fiction manuscripts.

My reading tastes are diverse: I have a soft spot for both fantasy and romance (I love both the light and the dark), I enjoy feminist literary fiction, dabble in sci-fi, and am always up for a gripping thriller. Honestly, I’ll read just about anything you put in front of me!

My newest obsession is fairy tales and fairy tale analysis – I doing research to help bring this into my editing services to deepen my knowledge of theme and story structure. And I am currently drafting my first fiction novel – Beholden, which is a feminist fairy tale retelling.
